About

The Christmas Berry tree is more formally known as the Brazilian Pepper Tree and is actually a part of the the same family of plants as the cashew.  These trees were brought into Florida in the 1800s and are commonly used due to there decorative look.  The branches with their distinct red berries are commonly used around the holiday season as Christmas decorations.  The red berries can be dried and used as a spice or included in gourmet pepper mixes where they are listed as pink peppercorns.  Many parts of the tree have been used for centuries for its natural healing and medicinal properties.
