Description

Taste

The taste of keys wild has a familiar honey taste with a prominent floral taste. Additionally, you’ll taste some unique traits in this honey that come from this one-of-a-kind area.  Trees such as the slash pine, mahogany, gumbo limbo, dogwood, and palms are prominent throughout the island chain.  Honey bees make use of the nectar from these various flowering trees to produce this delicious keys honey.  The Florida keys are also unique because the weather is defined by two main seasons.  The wet and hot season produces a slightly different tasting honey than the dry season.  Honey from either season is very tasty but you may taste subtle difference as the seasons change. This is one of our most popular choices of honey.

Location

The Florida keys are a chain of many islands that stretch for well over 100 miles from the southern coast of the state.  Many of the islands have been preserved so the land and surrounding waters have been left in their natural state.  These include the National Key Deer Refuge and John Pennekamp Coral State Park.  This give our bees plenty of plants and flowers to choose from through the island chain.

Uses:

Since this honey has a familiar honey flavor it makes a great all around choice. The floral characteristics make this a great all natural sweetener your regular tea or coffee.
